I primarily view the vocal mechanism (including singing technique) to be a health-related issue, and I approach [[Lessons|Singing lessons]] in that way.
While much of this will seem catered to [[Western classical music]], adjustments can be made to sing virtually any style.
## Six Processes of Singing
1. [[Neurology]]
2. [[Intention]]
3. [[Posture]]
4. [[Respiration]]
5. [[Phonation]]
6. [[Articulation (voice)|Articulation]]
[[Lessons|Voice Lessons]] will deal with the latter four processes. I used to include [[Resonance]] between [[Phonation]] and [[Articulation (voice)|Articulation]], but it's really a byproduct of the latter. It's also worth noting that many of these influence each other; [[Nothing exists in a vacuum]].
## Other Considerations
- [[Physical health]]
- [[Mental health]]
- Style comes later.
## Other resources
- [[Ware, Clifton|Clifton Ware]]'s <a target="_blank" href="https://www.amazon.com/Adventures-Singing-Exploring-Discovering-Developing/dp/0072977590?&_encoding=UTF8&tag=m0c00-20&linkCode=ur2&linkId=a61f27b9135968c3cad98d14251023d4&camp=1789&creative=9325">Adventures in Singing</a> ([[Affiliate marketing|affiliate]]) is a great, accessible resource for beginning singers.
- At some point, I'll actually create a page here for it with notes.
- My personal go-to resource is [[Miller, Richard. Training Tenor Voices]] (other versions exist for other [[Voice types]]), followed by [[Ware, Clifton|Clifton Ware]]'s <a target="_blank" href="https://www.amazon.com/Basics-Pedagogy-Clifton-Adventures-Singing/dp/0070682895/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=basics+of+vocal+pedagogy+by+clifton+ware&ufe=app_do%253Aamzn1.fos.18ed3cb5-28d5-4975-8bc7-93deae8f9840&_encoding=UTF8&tag=m0c00-20&linkCode=ur2&linkId=dab9244c86679492160decb336cb535f&camp=1789&creative=9325">Basics of Vocal Pedagogy</a> ([[Affiliate marketing|affiliate]]).
- I'm constantly looking at other resources, and hope to add to this list in the future.
